Welcome to Oxford Archers

Est. 1948
Oxford RFC Grounds, North Hinksey, Oxford.

clubchamps081An open and friendly club, Oxford Archers has been welcoming archers of all levels and all bowstyles for sixty years.

We are dedicated to maintaining a supportive atmosphere in which all can develop to their full potential, and are proud to be home to a number of nationally and internationally competitive archers.

As well as being somewhere to practice and improve, Oxford Archers is also a club in the true sense of the word. We hold regular socials, fun shoots and archery related days out - look for us in the pictures from the Dover World Cup! All members are encouraged to lend a helping hand and have their say in the running of the club.

So whether you're after a gold medal or a bit of fun, Oxford Archers is the club for you!

Oxford Archers operates a Children and Vulnerable Adults Protection Policy as promoted by the Grand National Archery Society. To view this policy in full, go to the CPP page.

Do You Want To Shoot?

There are several ways we can introduce you to the sport of archery. Have-A-Go events are ideal for trying archery without the commitment of a Beginner's Course. We can arrange corporate events and archery parties for birthdays, hen days and the like. A Beginner's Course will coach you to a level of competence required to join an archery club. Our qualified coaches offer private, one-on-one tuition at any level - from complete newcomer up to international standard. See the bottom of this page for more details.

And you are never too old. Have a look at one of our oldest active members in action:

720 Tournament

Results here.   Photos here.

Another excellent tournament reflecting the efforts of all those members who got involved, who took the odd hiccough in their stride (missing caterers, stroppy metal detectors et.al.) and who probably fell asleep very early on Sunday night. Your club, and the archers who competed, owe you their thanks.

Members are asked to sign-in before shooting on the field - much as you did at Heyford. At regular club sessions the book will be on the table immediately inside the pavillion. Those shooting outside of these times can find it in the store room. This is an insurance requirement.

New Gallery

Check out the new Photo Gallery - with 720 photos recently added. Members logging in will be able to add comments, rate photos and upload their own (so long as they are relevant). It is also possible to download photos from the gallery (there you go Jock).

Next Committee Meeting

Friday, 20th August. Around 7:30pm after shooting. Stay on and be entertained. AGM is set for Friday, 10th September.

Club Sessions

A reminder of club practice sessions. Wednesday & Friday from 6pm till dusk, Sunday from 1pm - 5pm. Sign in before you shoot.
